Injuries Crippling Flames Early in Season

Lynchburg -  Injuries are piling up for the Flames just two weeks into the season.  Already, offensive lineman Malcolm Boyd, tight end Peter Gagliardi and defensive back Darek Brooks are out for the year.

And starting quarterback Brian Hudson is questionable for Saturday's game at Division One Montana after hurting his knee, leg and shoulder late in Saturday's Norfolk State game.  Backup Josh Woodrum out of Cave Spring would step in if Hudson's not able to go.

Turner Gill, LIBERTY FLAMES HEAD COACH, said "It may be a, you go up even all the way up to the game time, go see 'em in the warmups.  So we'll just have to cross it day-by-day, see how he progresses."

Josh Woodrum, FLAMES R-FRESHMAN QB(CAVE SPRING), said - "Our quarterback competition was so tight this summer and this camp.  So you know I really feel like there really wasn't a drop-off as far as, you know, if he goes out and I come in or if I'm in and then he comes back, you know I don't feel there's any sort of drop-off."
