Lynchburg - Today's ABC 13 High School Team of the Week is E.C. Glass volleyball.
The Hilltoppers, one of the area's top teams year-in, year-out, are off to a 7-and-2 start this season, 2-and-0 in the Seminole District with wins over Rustburg and Brookville. Glass plays host to Jefferson Forest tomorrow night. The Hilltoppers also have a win over L.C.A. early in the season. The players are pleased with how they've kicked off the season.
Paige Riley, HILLTOPPERS SENIOR SETTER, said "We have great chemistry going on and I really think we can make it far this year. We all have great communication and both our defense and our offense has really picked it up so far. So I'm really proud of us."
Sarah Thomas, HILLTOPPERS SENIOR MIDDLE HITTER, said "All the seniors have been playing together since sixth grade which is very key to a team. And I just think our team-like bonding and teamwork is just really crucial."
