Danville, VA - God's Storehouse in Danville was much more crowded than usual Thursday because they partnered with God's Pit Crew to distribute food and hygiene products to 400 needy families.
It's all part of the "Americans Feeding Americans" program from Feed the Children. For the past few weeks, God's Storehouse has been distributing vouchers to families with children.
Thursday, cars formed a line around the Storehouse and into the street to turn in those vouchers.
"This is just something extra to help people get by. It is mainly targeted at families with children, and we just wanted to offer them something a little bit extra and it's just a program to help let them know we do care," said Karen Harris , executive director at God's Storehouse
Representatives from God's Storehouse say they hope to keep partnering with God's Pit Crew for events like this.
