Presidential Candidate Virgil Goode Speaks at Lynchburg School

Lynchburg, VA - Former Congressman and Presidential Candidate Virgil Goode was in Lynchburg Thursday. He spoke to government classes at E.C. Glass High school.

The kids were so excited to get some time with him. They got to get up close and personal with Goode, asking him questions about policy, his past, and some of the challenges he faces in this run for the presidency.

He was invited by the E.C. Glass government teacher. About 50 juniors and seniors, many able to vote, listened to Goode speak for about 45 minutes.

But the highlight was when they got to ask Goode questions. They spent the day learning about him and the Constitution Party, under which he's running.

For about 30 minutes, Goode took passionate questions from the audience addressing everything from social issues, to his tax policy.

"They certainly showed that they're looking at the issues for 2012, so I think that's a plus," said Goode.

"I really appreciate that he took the time. Lynchburg is not a very big place, he took the time to come here. There were Republicans in there, Democrats, I'm sure, people that don't even really know what their beliefs are," said Madeleine McDonald, a student.

The teacher extended the invitation to Goode, explaining what better way to learn government than from a veteran politician. He said he invited Romney and the president as well, but neither has gotten back to him.
