Roanoke Art Museum Expands Film Series

Roanoke, VA - Roanoke's Taubman Museum of Art is expanding its offerings by ramping up its film schedule.

While the museum has dabbled in film oriented art in the past, next weekend marks the beginning of a full fall schedule for the film lover.

The On Screen/In Person series will feature a documentary screening followed by a Q & A session with the director.

"We really want to see film as another form of art that we can show in the building. We have visual art; many exhibitions so film is another way to kind of reach out to a different artistic community and currate a new form of art," said Meghan Holmes with the museum.

The first documentary in the series, "Gen Silent", will be held next Thursday at 7 p.m. The movie chronicles six LGBT seniors as they decide their elder care options.
