Danville, VA-- Danville residents have been weighing in on what they would like to see in the place of the Downtowner Motor Inn.
The city of Danville and the Downtown Danville Association are holding three open houses next week.
The Downtowner hotel opened in the 60s and closed down in 1986. After being vacant for about 25 years, the building was finally demolished in July.
One Danville resident visits Main Street quite often, and said she would like the site to be used for parking. She said parallel parking just is not enough anymore.
"I would like to see more parking since more business are being attracted to this area, " Lauren Patterson said.
According to the city, there will be three chances for you to stop by the open houses. They will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday Sept. 20, and from 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 21. The sessions will be held at 527 Main Street in Danville.
