Chatham, VA - Folks on the Southside can learn more about uranium mining and its impact at another public meeting, Monday.
The meeting will run from 1p.m. to 5p.m. in Chatham at the Old Dominion Agricultural Center.
That's not far from the 119-million-pound uranium deposit a mining company wants to tap.
The Chatham meeting will summarize public comments and questions fielded by the state Department of Health on potential uranium mining and milling.
The state Department of Environmental Quality will also make a presentation on ground and surface water, as well as air quality issues.
