Danville, VA -- The local band Jus' Cauz, a bluegrass group from the Southside, won the state Blue Grass Championships in Chesterfield.
It's their second year going to this competition but the first time they have taken the first place title. They also placed in the bass, mandolin and vocal competitions. They played a mix of original music and cover songs, so there was something for everyone.
The group got money, trophies, and of course bragging rights. They want to put the money towards making their first album.
"It was good. It was verification that we're good. At least somebody thought so anyway!" said Mark Wallace, Jus' Cauz Band member.
The group plans to compete in larger festivals in the coming year.
