Amherst County - Amherst County and Rockbridge County battled the full five games Monday night in volleyball to decide a winner, Rockbridge pulled out the 3-2 victory.
Amherst won last week at Rockbridge. Monday night, the visiting Wildcats stormed back in game three, wiping out a 22-16 deficit by scoring the final nine points to win the game and grab a 2- games lead. Amherst bounced back to win game four 25-18 to force a fifth and deciding game.
Rockbridge, though, took the final game 15-10 to win the match. The Wildcats improve to 5-and-3 overall, Amherst drops to 2-and-4 on the season.
