Centra Presents Medical Plan To Pittsylvania County

Posted:

Pittsylvania Co., VA - Centra shared plans with the Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors Tuesday night to build a 50,000 square-foot major medical center with an emergency department, helipad, on-site ambulance, 64-slice CT scanner and other imaging technology and laboratory services.

The new center, which would replace the current Gretna Medical Center, would be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week on nearly 12 acres on U.S. 29 and is accessible from Route 40 by way of McBride Lane.

Centra's proposal will need to be approved by the Centra Board of Directors before it can go forward. That board meets Monday, September 24th. The plan was presented to the Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday to correspond with the supervisors' regularly scheduled meeting.
