Officials Issue Hundreds of Charges After Massive Drug Investigation


Henry Co., VA - Henry County deputies, state police, and other agencies have made 34 arrests after a joint drug operation.

The Henry County Sheriff's Office, in cooperation with the Virginia State Police, Martinsville Police Department, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Alcohol Tobacco & Firearms (ATF) conducted a joint drug operation in Henry County between January 2011 and May 2012.

The suspects were arrested on state indictments issued Monday, and their charges include distributing cocaine and methamphetamines.

Investigators focused on known drug areas in Henry County, by way of undercover drug purchases, search warrants and vehicle stops.

During the operation, investigators seized some items. Among them were a house, eight vehicles, 73 firearms, and $70,000.00 in cash.

The investigation resulted in 152 felony criminal charges and 35 federal charges.

Investigators are still looking to charge 32 people, under sealed indictment.
