Parker Slaybaugh is an ABC-13 Reporter/Video-Journalist in the Lynchburg newsroom. Parker joined the ABC 13 team in 2011.

Parker was born and raised in Colonial Heights, Virginia. In 2007, Parker left Colonial Heights to begin chasing his dream of becoming a journalist. His first stop in accomplishing that dream was enrolling at Liberty University, where in 2011, he graduated with a video broadcasting Degree. He graduated as a part of The National Communication Honor Society - Lambda Pi Eta.

During the summer of 2010, Parker had the chance to intern at NBC's "Today' Show" in New York City. Parker's television debut came during his time at Today when he was asked to model a "Zipper Tie" live on the air.

After Hurricane Katrina rocked the Gulf of Mexico, Parker traveled with his church to the region on two different occasions to assist in the rebuilding process. Parker has been a part of numerous service projects across the world, as well as right here in Central Virginia.

Parker is a people person. He was once told by an elementary school teacher that he could strike up a conversation with a door knob. So if you see him around town, feel free to stop and strike up a conversation! We're sure he'd enjoy that a lot more than talking to the door knob.
