Update 12:30 p.m.:

Campbell Co., VA – Officials say the driver of the moped involved in an accident Monday night was Cecil G. Arthur, 53, of Madison Heights.

The Virginia State Police Department says a 2002 Nissan Maxima traveling east on Timberlake Rd. was attempting to make a left turn onto Powtan Drive. Arthur was traveling west on Timberlake Rd. and struck the passenger side of the Nissan.

Officials say Arthur was ejected and then struck by a gray-colored minivan on Timberlake Rd. Arthur was taken to Lynchburg General Hospital where he died a short time later. Police say Arthur was wearing a helmet.

Officials are still looking for the driver of the gray-colored minivan last seen going westbound on Timberlake Rd. It may have damage to its front end.

The driver and the passenger of the Nissan were not injured in the crash. Both were wearing seatbelts.
