Danville, VA - The runway at a small airport in South Boston had a lot of traffic Friday, but not with regular sized planes.
Folks gathered at William Tuck Airport to watch mini-aircrafts. It was all for 5th annual Flighter Fight Against Cancer Fly-In. All the proceeds go to the Danville and Halifax County Cancer Associations.
The fly-in started Friday and goes until Sunday. There will be raffles, prizes and 50-50 drawings.
Event coordinator Mark Francisco says he hopes people come out this weekend.
"Help us fight cancer is the main thing. We've got a lot guys that have come from a lot of long distances away to fly these planes and to put on a show for these spectators," Francisco said.
The event is free, but there is a fee to fly your plane. Francisco hopes to raise between $2,000 to $3,000 this weekend.
