Lynchburg, VA - For anyone who needs a reason to clean out their pantry, one organization is collecting.
The United Way of Central Virginia kicked off their second annual food drive Monday. The goal is to get as many barrels full of canned goods and non-perishable items as they can.
Last year they raised just over 8,000 pounds of food to give to the needy in our area. They're challenging central Virginia to help double that amount this year.
You can drop off any items at the United Way office in Lynchburg or contact United Way to pick up a barrel to fill it up on your own.
The food drive ends October 31.
