Hokies Offense Looking for Quicker Start

Posted:

Blacksburg - Four of the last five Virginia Tech/North Carolina games have been decided by seven points or less.

With that in mind, the Hokies had better get going early on offense and avoid the slow starts that have plagued them.  Saturday against Cincinnati, Tech opened things up in the fourth quarter but in the first half, the Hokies didn't get a first down until just over five minutes left before intermission.

Logan Thomas, HOKIES R-JUNIOR QUARTERBACK, said "There's nothing you can explain but the only thing I can think of right now is that we've got to come out and make it a point of emphasis right from the get-go.  Come out and play as hard as possible, physical and just take care of the small things as well because those are the ones, the small things will pick up those first downs. And once you pick up the first downs, it builds the confidence and gets things going."

Marcus Davis, 5 CATCHES, 101 YDS. VS. CINCY, said "I think it's a lack of energy out there.  You know I think as an offense we have to come out there firing on all cylinders and we've got to pick it up from the start."
