Danville, VA - One Danville woman is helping St. Jude Children's Research Hospital continue to save lives. Tessa Moore calls it Danville's Walk for St. Jude.
The event is next Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Dan Daniel's Park. Moore doesn't have any close family members who have had cancer but has always had a special place in her heart for St. Jude's.
She says she knows times are hard, and not everyone has money to donate, but wants you to put yourself the shoes of parent whose child has cancer.
"People should consider how hard it is for that parent who has no insurance and is at a complete lost at what to do to save their child's life, " Moore said.
It's $25 to walk, and $35 to walk and get a t-shirt. You can sign up on the morning of the event. The walk goes until 3:00 p.m.
