Update: 5:15 p.m.:
Lynchburg, VA - Liberty Christian Academy was under a brief lockdown Friday afternoon.
Police say this came after a woman called in saying she saw a man in the parking lot of Candlers Station, wearing a strange costume, and potentially carrying a gun.
Police notified school officials, who determined a lockdown was appropriate. Ultimately, police determined the area to be safe, and that the man had broken no laws. Still, a scary scenario for many students, and parents.
"It's a little scary, but they did excellent. LCA did an excellent job I think. And I would rather them be safe than sorry," said LCA parent Linda May.
Parents were notified of the lockdown via email. Students were dismissed just a few minutes later than usual.
