Lynchburg, VA - Officials say Mildred Lowry, 70, has been found in good health in the Lynchburg area.

Lynchburg, VA- A woman in Lynchburg has lots of questions and not many answers. She says her mother is missing, and has been so for more than a week now.

A Sergeant with the Lynchburg Police Department has confirmed the case, saying they are investigating a missing person's case for 70-year-old Mildred Lowry.

Family says it's not like Mildred Lowry to leave without telling anyone. But since last Sunday, there has been no word from Lowry.

"I just want to know that she's alright. I just want to know where she's at," said Elizabeth Bobbitt, Lowry's daughter.

Bobbitt says her mother has moved for different jobs in the past, but says she would always tell family and friends where she was going. Bobbitt says her mother's Blue 1995 Buick Century is also missing. Further reason for concern, Bobbitt says there are certain family heirlooms left behind.

"There was a banjo that was made 150 years ago that one of our family members made, and she wouldn't have left that there," said Bobbitt.

Bobbitt says her mother lived and worked at Elderly Care, an adult care facility off Edley Place Road in Lynchburg. The owner says Lowry left last week and never made it home.

"We're sitting in the bedroom that the last occupant was Milly Lowry," said George Hatmaker, the owner of Elderly Care.

Hatmaker says Lowry only lived and worked there for about a week before she went missing. Hatmaker is a Pastor at a local church. He says while he was at church last Sunday, she left and he hasn't seen her since.

"I hope and pray that she's safe," said Hatmaker.

For Bobbitt, she just hopes this isn't a consequence of her mother's gambling habits.

"If she owed somebody some money or something, we'll pay it. If there's anything anybody knows, I just wish they would call," said Bobbitt.

If you have any information about Lowry's whereabouts call Central Virginia Crime Stoppers at 1-888-798-5900.
