Officials Investigating Boating Hit & Run at SML

Smith Mountain Lake, VA - An investigation is underway at Smith Mountain Lake after authorities say someone left the scene of a boating accident.

It happened October 13 at about 3:30 a.m.

According to the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries, a boat hit a dock near the entrance to Indian Creek in the Roanoke River section of the lake.

The dock has significant damage.
