Jared MeadowsCovington, VA - A Covington man will spend 40 years in jail after killing his baby.
25-year-old Jared Meadows was sentenced Friday in Alleghany Circuit Court.
Meadows was arrested last October and charged with capital murder and felony child abuse in the death of his 25-day-old baby boy.
Meadows is said to have forcefully placed his son on the un-cushioned armrest of a couch, causing a skull fracture.
The infant later died.
An autopsy report and testimony from a preliminary hearing showed the child also had suffered multiple broken bones, and eye and brain injuries.
