Danville, VA-- Danville Police Department wants to make sure it's a safe Halloween this year.
According to Sake Kids USA, more children are hit and killed on Halloween night than any other night of the year. So the police department decided to create a Halloween safety web page.
The web page gives tips on pumpkin carving, costume safety, trick-or-treating, and much more. The Police department says there is a higher risk of injuries when Halloween rolls around.
"We got a lot of children out on the street and with more numbers and stuff like that, we want motorists and we want the tricker treaters and parents also to take some steps to make it a more safe experience," said Captain Matt Carter.
