Lynchburg, VA - If you need a little help this Christmas, sign-ups for the Salvation Army Angel Tree are underway.
The program provides families in need with food, toys and clothing for their children. If you are interested in applying, organizers say you will need proof of income, a list of your children's names, birth certificates and social security cards of each child.
This year, the organization is also partnering with Wal-Mart for a, "Fill the Truck" campaign. That will take place some time in December. The Salvation Army says it is great to see all the community support for this cause.
"During Christmas time, it's a magical time. It's a time in which the community, we can put all of our differences aside and we can come together for a common cause," said Captain Donald Dohmann.
The deadline to apply is November 2.
