The board voted to tell the redistricting committee to keep seven districts after Bedford City reverts to town status. That means the number of supervisors stays at seven, to avoid tie votes.
Adding supervisors would result in additional salaries, costing taxpayers more.
The redistricting committee will meet for the first time this Thursday.
