Health Fair Honors Former Employee Killed in Car Accident

Martinsville, VA - Dozens of people came out to the Blue Ridge Rehab Center in Martinsville.

Workers dubbed the Wednesday "Sandra Estes Day" and held a first health fair in her honor. Estes lost her life in an accident last year.

They say Estes had a heart for single mothers going back to school. So much, that she paid for some mothers to go to CNA classes while she was alive.

After she passed, her daughter started a scholarship fund in her name.

Organizers say 21 health vendors came out.

"They're here to serve us and point us in the right direction, so it doesn't have to be a scary moment, and we can make sure that we're taken care of and our loved ones are taken care of," said Tilisa Riddle, the Blue Ridge Village marketing director.

So far, they've raised $1,000 for the Sandra Estes Scholarship fund.

If you want to donate, you can contact Tilisa Riddle from Blue Ridge Village at (276) 638-8701.
