Danville, VA-- If you were in downtown Danville Sunday evening, you probably saw something that looked like a horror film. That's because people were getting into the Halloween spirit by doing a zombie walk.
The event coordinator says the idea started when he and his friends wanted to dress as zombies and scare people at a Walmart. People heard about their plans on Facebook, and the event grew from there.
"This idea just kind of gravitated to people," said event coordinator Dustin Evans. "It's something different. The zombie craze is really kicking off right now because of Walking Dead. It's cool, I don't really know too many people that aren't into Halloween."
Evans says he and his friends have already started to plan another zombie walk for December. They want to make the next walk a charity event and collect food to donate to God's Storehouse.
