Senator Mark Warner Speaks Out About Sandy Response

Posted:

Lynchburg, VA - Senator Mark Warner was campaigning for Senate candidate Tim Kaine in Lynchburg Thursday.

The senator took time to acknowledge the federal response to the destruction left from superstorm Sandy.

He said fortunately, the Virginia coast and northern parts of the commonwealth only experienced minor damage.

Warner said he was proud of President Obama's leadership in the wake of the storm; siting a bipartisan effort, working with New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, to make sure adequate relief was received.

"Regardless of who you're for in the campaign, to see a very strong republican governor and the President, actually putting aside politics and doing their job, I thought that is, hopefully a sign of things to come."

Warner also sited Mitt Romney's reluctance to come forward on his position of cutting funding to FEMA.
