New Details in Officer-Involved Shooting in Altavista

Altavista, VA – Police officials have released the name of the police officer involved in a fatal shooting in Altavista earlier this year.

Delma Towler, 83, was killed in a shooting outside her home in September.

Sergeant L.P. Rigney is the officer involved in the shooting. He's on administrative leave without pay.

Rigney is a five-year veteran of the Altavista Police Department.
