Blacksburg - The last time Virginia Tech did not play in a post-season bowl, George H.W. Bush was President, a stamp cost 29 cents, a gallon of gas about $1.10 and the Hokies' freshman class wasn't even born yet.
Unless the 4-and-6 Hokies win their final two regular season games, their 19-year bowl streak will come to an end. This Saturday, Tech plays at 2-and-8 Boston College. The Hokies, though, have dropped two of their last three at BC's Alumni Stadium. Tech is 0-and-5 on the road this year, they've lost their last seven away from Lane Stadium.
Antone Exum, HOKIES R-JUNIOR CORNERBACK, said "I don't think we're gonna really change anything we're doing or try to over-coach it or put too much pressure on ourselves or anything like that. But, you know, at the same time we know that these are two must-win games, so it's just something that has to get done."
Frank Beamer, 14-6 RECORD VS. BOSTON COLLEGE, said "We've had disappointment but you know that's life. You've got to come back, and how you come back from disappointment tells you a lot about who you are. And that's where we are this week."
Logan Thomas, HOKIES R-JUNIOR QUARTERBACK, said "We know that, you know, we've got to have these next two to go to a bowl and we're excited about it just because the added pressure makes you play better."
