Altavista - The Altavista Colonels are headed to Friday's state volleyball semifinals in Richmond.
Altavista ran its winning streak to 22 with Tuesday night's 3-0 win over Appomattox Regional Governor's School. The Colonels' Sydney Morris led the way with 17 kills, Allison Mabry had 29 assists, Chelsea Robinson 7 kills as Altavista rolled to a big victory. The Colonels will play in Friday morning's state semifinals at 10:30 at VCU's Siegel Center. Altavista will take a 23-and-1 record into the Final Four.
