Forest, VA - Workers at Poplar Forest are getting ready for this weekend's big Thomas Jefferson Wine Festival.
The tents are being set up at Jefferson's retreat for the 4th annual event-- which runs from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Saturday.
It is also an opportunity to see his home, his wine cellar, hear music, and sample some of Virginia's best wine..
"We've got 14 craft vendors, 14 wineries from all around the state of Virginia, some from the Bedford wine trail... We're also doing the launch of the Jefferson heritage trail, which is a new wine and culture trail that starts at Monticello and ends at Poplar Forest. They're launching Saturday," said Kelcey Thurman, communications director at Poplar Forest.
Tickets for the wine festival are $20 in advance and $25 at the event. There will be heated tents for the wine tasting if you get a little cold.
