Peaks of Otter Lodge May Close

Bedford Co., VA - They were hoping a deal would work out, but the Peaks of Otter Lodge will close after all.

Managers at the lodge decided not to bid on a new 10-year contract with the National Park Service, and there haven't been any bidders for a new management contract.

The lodge's final guests will check out on Monday.

Park service officials say they hope to have a new manager in time to reopen the lodge in the spring.
