Green Country celebrates Thanksgiving!
As always, Tulsa's Salvation Army served up a Thanksgiving Day feast in Downtown Tulsa.
800 to 1,000 people were expected.
Folks enjoyed turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, pie, and all the typical trimmings!
Organizers tell Channel 8, it's a great time to "gobble up" some great food- and visit with good friends.
Major Jim Taylor says, "On a special day like Thanksgiving, you have people that want to come and get a meal and spend some time with people they know and they're friends with. So we're just having a special day, where they'll come and we serve them."
The Salvation Army also provides take-out trays to help those who are either handicapped or home bound.
Guests were also offered free hats, scarves and gloves.
