A rest stop for many travelers on the Cherokee Turnpike will be closing early next month.
According to a release from the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority, the service area, located between Kansas and Locust Grove, will close on December 3rd.
Jack Damrill with the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority tells KTUL.com, the reason for the closure stems from the Service Area's fuel vendor, EZ-GO, choosing not to renew their lease.
Damrill points out that there are several places along the 33 mile long highway where motorists can fuel their vehicles.
