Richmond, VA – Governor McDonnell's Uranium Working Group is planning to release its report Friday.
The group has held numerous public meetings across the state and has analyzed the possibility of uranium mining in Virginia.
Virginia Uranium Incorporated wants to mine a massive deposit outside of Chatham. But before they can, the state must lift a 30 year ban on uranium mining.
Their report will not recommend whether the ban should end. It will be a broad examination of issues related to mining.
The group's report is expected to be a big part of discussions in the upcoming General Assembly.
