Two Virginia Tech Football Players Charged with Setting off Bomb

Blacksburg, VA - Two Virginia Tech football players are facing charges after Blacksburg Police say they set off an explosive device.

Joshua Trimble, 20, and Brian Rody, 19, were arrested and charged with manufacturing and detonating an explosive device.

Trimble is a linebacker and Rody is a quarterback for the Hokies.

Police officers responded to the 1600 block of Patrick Henry Drive about 8:30 p.m. after a witness reported an explosion near an apartment in the area. No one was hurt.
