An inmate who broke free from a southeast Oklahoma jail was found in Hugo around 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 9.
His escape was first reported on Monday following a routine head count at the medium-security unit at Mack Al ford Correctional Center near Atoka.
Bales is serving a life-sentence without parole. He was convicted of first degree murder in 2006 in Oklahoma County.
