Update: Missing Farmville Man Found in Roanoke County

Update Friday 7:08 p.m.:

Roanoke Co., VA -Roanoke County Police officials say a missing man with dementia from Farmville has been found safe.

After a ground search late Friday afternoon in the Fort Lewis Mountain area, a detective spotted him around 5 p.m. Friday in a wooded area on the mountain.

He was alive and brought to Rescue workers, who to took him to the hospital to be checked out.

Hairston was missing since Tuesday morning when he left his Farmville home for a CVS across the street, and never came back.

There had been several sightings since.

Farmville, VA - Police in Farmville say there's been a sighting of an elderly man missing since Tuesday, but they still haven't been able to track him down.

Police say they got a call Friday morning that William Henry Hairston, 70, was in Goochland County Thursday afternoon, appearing confused and asking for directions to Farmville.

Tuesday morning, Hairston said he was going to the CVS near his house in Farmville, but never returned.

Police say he is on medication for Dementia and Alzheimer's.

Hairston was driving a Maroon, 1993 Pontiac Grand Prix.

Farmville, VA – Police are looking for a man who has a medical condition that requires medication.

Officials say William Henry Hairston, 70, was last seen leaving his home in the 1100 block of South Main Street at 10 a.m. on Tuesday. He was driving a Maroon 1993 Pontiac Grand Prix with Virginia handicap plates 327714. Police officials say Hairston was going to the CVS across the street from his home to get a pack of cigarettes.

Officials say Hairston is 5'11," 240 lbs with black hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a black leather jacket and wide rim black hat.

Hairston is on medication for Dementia and Alzheimer's.

Officials say he was reported missing once before.
