Roanoke, VA - Roanoke's RAM House hit a major milestone when they served their 25th Anniversary lunch Friday.
The nonprofit, which is part of Roanoke Area Ministries, has served lunch every day since 1987 and has become a major player in helping the needy in the area.
In 2011 alone, they served 45-thousand meals.
For the woman who has led the kitchen for the past 13 years, the hard work is well worth it.
"Every day is a challenge. Every day we meet different challenges and different people with different circumstances and to know we can make a little difference in their life. It's all worthwhile," said Linda Cannon, the kitchen manager.
As part of their 25th celebration, RAM House is selling a very well designed cookbook to raise money for their food program.
Of about 1,000 printed, so far 350 have sold.
