SouthPark Hypnosis, Charlotte’s leading provider of clinical hypnosis and pediatric hypnosis, is pleased to announce an additional service offering bringing acupuncture into its smoking cessation program.
Charlotte, NC (PRWEB) December 09, 2012
SouthPark Hypnosis has served the greater Charlotte region for the last couple years offering clinical hypnosis and pediatric hypnosis. The introduction of acupuncture into its stop-smoking service was a natural progression. Now, in addition to offering smoking cessation with hypnosis only, SouthPark Hypnosis will also provide clients who are committed to kick the habit another service option combining hypnosis and acupuncture.
SouthPark Hypnosis is partnering with Live Well Acupuncture in Charlotte, NC offering clients a more expansive smoking cessation option combining hypnosis and acupuncture. The stop-smoking plan provides support over an additional three to four weeks instead of the typical two-session stop-smoking hypnosis.
Clients who choose the hypnosis-acupuncture smoking-cessation solution have access to extended support through weekly acupuncture treatments and Chinese Herbs provided by Live Well Acupuncture’s nationally board certified acupuncturist and Chinese Herbalist to help ease cravings and discomfort complementing the hypnosis sessions.
Research has shown that hypnosis and acupuncture are effective solutions to becoming a non-smoker.
The NADA (National Acupuncture Detoxification Association) protocol is used in addiction centers worldwide to reduce cravings, stress and irritability.
A study by the University of Iowa published in the Journal of Applied Psychology found hypnosis 3 times as effective as the patch and 15 times as effective as willpower.
Furthermore, hypnosis subjects are twice as likely to remain smoke-free after two years (Wynd, CA. Journal of Nursing Scholarship).
Acupuncture and hypnosis have been promoted as drug-free ways to help smokers kick the habit, and there is some evidence that they work, according to a research review that looked at 14 international studies. (Reuters May 6, 2012)
