Montgomery County Sheriff Sued by Former Employee

Montgomery Co, VA - The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office along with Sheriff Tommy Whitt are facing a big lawsuit.

A former captain with the department wants $10,000,000 in damages for wrongful termination.

Brad Roop alleges he was fired for doing an unauthorized internal investigation into a drug informant who was taking department money and turning in phony drugs.

However, Roop claims the sheriff himself told him to do the investigation.
