Lynchburg Road Closed After Driver Knocks Down Light Pole

Lynchburg, VA – Officials say Rivermont Avenue by the 3100 block will be closed for the next couple of hours.

Police say an elderly woman crashed into a light pole Wednesday around 2:30 p.m. She was taken to the hospital but is in stable condition.

AEP crews are working on the problem now, and officials hope to clear the scene by 5 p.m.

Traffic is being detoured down Rivermont Terrace.
