Martinsville, VA-- Every year volunteers in Martinsville put together a Christmas Dinner for families in need.
And this year, they need your help. The event is called Richard's Christmas Dinner, named after a man who started delivering meals to people on Christmas.
Organizers say they fed 1,500 people last Christmas. 80 percent of their meals are delivered, and they are in need of volunteers to help with that.
They are also looking for cooks and other volunteers, along with deserts.
" I can take any skill any type of volunteer, any skill set, if you have a half an hour or if you have three hours, if you know how to cook, if you don't know how to cook," organizer Scott Norman said.
The dinner will be at First Baptist Church on Christmas morning, and they also work with the Grace Network.
It costs about $4500 total to feed about 1500 people, so they still need monetary donations.
To donate money, you can contact Grace Network at (276) 638-6500.
To order meals you can call (276) 403-9050.
