Lynchburg Police at Schools Today Following Newtown Shooting

Lynchburg, VA - Due to Friday's mass shooting in Connecticut, the Lynchburg Police Department has placed an officer at every school Monday.

According to a school district spokesperson, the officers will be on hand for arrival and dismissal. Administrators will also be making rounds at all schools.

Officials say this is just to a way to ease parents' minds and give them a chance to ask questions.
