OSU's Brittney Martin Earns Big 12 Freshman Honors
STILLWATER, Okla. -
For the second time this season, Oklahoma State's Brittney Martin has been named the Phillips 66 Big 12 Women's Basketball Freshman of the Week, as chosen by a media voting panel.
On Dec. 22, Martin logged the program's first-ever triple-double, finishing with 10 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists in the Cowgirls' victory at UT Arlington. In the contest, the Syracuse, Utah native hit four of her nine shots from the floor and nine of her career-high 14 rebounds came at the offensive end.
Martin also tallied two blocks and five steals in 34 minutes of action. Her 10 assists were a career high as well.
She also received the league's first honor of the season on Nov. 12.
The Cowgirls will be back in action on Friday at 9 p.m. (CST) when they take on Harvard in the first round of the Surf ‘N Slam Classic in San Diego.
