Danville, VA-- Dozens gathered at First Baptist Church in Danville on Friday evening, to support the arts.
Union Street Theatre had a Pancake Palooza fundraiser. There was unlimited pancakes and a performance from the students. It was all to help raise money for their students to attend the Junior Theatre Festival in Atlanta, Georgia in two weeks.
Union Street Theatre has had several fundraisers in the past couple months, and said the response from the community has been great.
"It makes me glad that we have so many people wanting to support the arts and support the theater and support us, the community kids, so it makes me feel happy," Union Street Theatre student Kamryn Burton said.
So far they've raised $7,000 but still need at least double that amount. If you'd like to support them you can visit their website here.
