Police Identify North Tulsa Shooting Victim, Arrest Suspect
TULSA, Okla. -
Tulsa Police were called out to shots heard around 4:10 p.m., Friday, January 4.
Ronnie Stanley, 32, was treated and transported to St. John's Hospital, where he died from his injuries.
According to the police report, Jamal Dante Long, 19, was arrested for 1st degree murder, possession of a firearm, false impersonation and joyriding.
Long stated in an interview with police that he and three others exited a vehicle and walked to observe the victim. Long said that two of his accomplice shot at Stanley. Long stated that a 9mm and.380 handgun were used.
Officers were en route to the location when more calls came in stating that there was a male down in the street. Stanley was treated by EMSA and Tulsa Fire Department prior to being transported.
According to the report, Stanley sustained bullet wounds to his head and leg.
Long told police officer that "his accomplices had an ongoing dispute with the victim over an outstanding money debt."
Tulsa Police are still investigating and have stated there is no clear cut motive at this time. The homicide unit is still searching for witnesses and believe there are more suspects.
