KTUL.com pulled crime stats for 2012 and found 659 crimes reported within a half-mile of East 61st Street and Peoria Avenue.
After four women were found dead in a south Tulsa Apartment complex, the city's attention is focused on the area around East 61st Street and Peoria Avenue.
The intersection has a reputation for being a hot spot of criminal activity. KTUL.com pulled crime stats for 2012 and found 659 crimes reported within a half-mile of the intersection.
"We are looking down every possible avenue for answers to how this situation can be improved in this area of the city," Mayor Dewey F. Bartlett said. "From abatement issues to out of state ownership and management, this issue will remain on the top of my list moving forward."
The 659 crimes reported in 2012 include four homicides, 5 rapes and 170 burglaries.
