If you've been wanting to work on your home and backyard but haven't gotten to it, this is your chance! Come out to the Greater Roanoke Home and Garden Show January 11-13. The Roanoke Civic Center will be transformed featuring all kinds of exhibits. You can learn about gardening, landscaping, water features, pools, home improvement and much more. In Lynchburg, Phase 2 will have the band Blackout on stage Friday. The heavy metal band from the Hill City will be on at 9 p.m., and tickets are $8. Then on Saturday, Confederate Railroad will be in concert at Phase 2. The group plays a mix of modern country and Southern Rock. Doors open at 8 p.m., and tickets are $12.
Also Saturday—the Lynchburg Museum opens a new part to its Civil War exhibit. It's called, "An American Turning Point: Waging War." It focuses on technology, weaponry and leadership in Virginia as the major battleground of the war. That'll be open at 10 a.m. and it'll run through May 5.
