Lynchburg - Justen Joyner's basket with 14 seconds left gave Heritage the lead, and the Pioneers withstood a frantic finish to edge E.C. Glass 67-66 to take over sole possession of first in the Seminole District.
Glass' Shawn Brown drove and just missed a reverse layup in the final seconds that would have won it for the Hilltoppers. Brown had scored four points in the final minute to keep the Hilltoppers in the game. William McCoy led Pioneers scoring with 16, Joyner added 15, Tyree 14 as Heritage improves to 10-and-3 overall, 4-and-0 in the district.
Karl Overstreet scored 13 of his game-high 19 points in the second quarter to lead E.C. Glass, but was held to just three points in the second half. Rameek Vereen added 13 for Glass, Montrez Bateman 11.
The Hilltoppers drop to 4-and-1 in the district, 8-and-7 overall.
Holy Cross hosted Covenant out of Charlottesville. The visiting Eagles raced out to a 22-5 lead after the first quarter and never looked back. The Gaels worked a nice give-and-go to Wilson Park early for two, but Covenant had too many weapons. The Eagles won 70-25.

L.C.A. 72, Lynchburg Home School 30
Liberty 65, Amherst County 56
